Joel Anne is the proud guardian of JAZZIE a dachshund doggie. Although JAZZIE receives the most excellent care and love, that is not the case for most animals on our planet. With climate change and the recent COVID-19 pandemic, our planet is crying out for us to consider a different relationship to animals and our environment. This is the reason for JAZZIE’S DREAM.We hope that you will enjoy JAZZIE’S DREAM and tell your friends. It is a book for all ages and a perfect choice as a gift book. JAZZIE stands for “JAZZMAN” or just “JAZZ”! The name is in honor of Joel Anne's dad: Johnnie Jessen who was a professional saxophonist! He started his career playing saxophone in a traveling band for the Orpheum Vaudeville Circuit back in the late 1920’s. His band played in theaters near Chicago and many stars crossed over the Vaudeville stage, including “The Gumm Sisters” — (a young Judy Garland performing with her sisters.) During her dad's time as a teacher in the Seattle area, one of his longtime students was Kenny G. So: Jazzie is the Jazz or Jazzman KINDNESS BOOKS - a self-publishing team that publishes books mostly for children and the young at heart about our relationship with animals and our environment. The brilliant Parisian illustrator MARC CHALVIN has illustrated all but one of our 20 or so books. |
